Hi all ,

Stirling Gorehounds S. C. are proud to release details of our forthcoming Highland Scoot event in May 2010. This is only the 2nd time this event has been run - the 1st was in 1959.

The route will be a replica of the original route taken in 1959 on the previous and 1st Highland Scoot event.
This event is being supported by The Vespa Club of Britain.

It will set off from the car park of The Wallace Monument in Stirling -

The event will be flagged off by an original competitor from The Glasgow Vespa Club of 1959

Entrants will be played off by a piper , and led through the town centre by a police motorcycle outrider before making their way North West towards Loch Lomond & Argyll area.

After the event there will be an evening Do at Cambusbarron Miners Welfare Club in Stirling

Please find below links showing registration etc , the stills shown in some of the fotos are of the actual route to be taken......the animals shown are there to enhance the Scottishness of the event & weren`t harmed in the making of the trailer

A map will soon be added to the links to show the route , which is roughly 180 miles in total.

i presume there will be overnite camping if theres a do' on at nite ?? or will it be a b & b coz knowing Scotland, it'll probably be snowing that weekend Shocked

(they should have a map o the route drawn up soon aswell...)

google reckond round trip about 4hours +
(however not sure i got all the proper road's??)

Nae sure if i'm doing this either now

Booked flights to go and visit my brother in canada in the summer and its a small fortune for the 4 of us so limiting what i'll be going to Confused

couple o a92s done the drive (in the car) said to be 153 miles round trip from/to wallace monument.
